A wine tasting in Colmar

In the afternoon, the class made a stop in Colmar at the Cave Vinicole Jean Geiler which happens to be one of the biggest wine cooperatives in Alsace, France. It was a great pleasure to have a tour through the building and see some of the barrels for which the wine is held and get a glimpse at some of the old contraptions which were used in aid of wine production in the past.

We tasted 5 different wines, but my favourite was the Gewurztraminer, a rather sweet but delicious and savoury wine. To pair with the wines of the tasting, we were also treated with a famous Alsacian cake by the name of Kougelhopf, which I enjoyed so much that I really wish they had it back in Canada so I could enjoy it some more in the future.
